매스 미디어는 믿을만한 뉴스를 제공하는가? 40분만에 썼어요. 시간초과 ㅠㅠ |
There are a argument regarding the issue wether information and news given by mass medias or the internet media are true or not. Some media take advantage of the pubic opinion to raise market share of broadcasting industry. As a result of this situation, modern people often do not know how to accept the information given by a variety of mass medias. Moreover, they have difficulty discerning a great amount of information on the internet which is main information sources in the modern world. There are two reasons to support my idea.
To begin with, mass media can not giving reliable information to the citizens because, most mass medias are changing to be commercial. It means that people have difficulty finding genuine knowledge regarding the social issue. Therefore, they are more likely to understand misguided information than before. From my experience, nowadays, there are a lot of information on the internet regarding mad cow disease in Korea. Whenever I read the newspaper or the web sites on the internet, I am confused, because of a various different information. I can discover object information, because Many information are sensational or exaggerated. In this sense, a lot of information in the commercial mass medias are inclined to be exaggerated to make a profits, and people are getting to be difficult to obtain true information.
On top of that, mass medias are becoming subjective institutes. In other words, the meaning of journalism are changing to have their own opinions. For instance, Korean newspaper now have a their own idea or opinion dealing with the issue, and it is getting natural in the ever-changing world. As a result, unless people can have the ability to discern the contents given by mass media, they can not know the gist of the contents. Moreover, even they are likely to accept distorted knowledge. Therefore, it is obvious that people have difficult finding true information.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that modern people have a lot of difficulty finding and discerning true information. As I mentioned above, there are many exaggerated information given by mass media which try to make a profit as means of high market share. Moreover, because of the change of mass media which have their own opinion, it is getting more difficult for people to obtain true information with discretion. |
