Question : Almost every student learns the same few subjects in school: math, science, languages, etc. If you had the opportunity to study a subject in school that you have never studied, what subject would you choose? Explain your choice using specific reasons and details.
My parents taught me that I have to think about every single word I use because it is so important. A word can make someone angry or happy. Some people know about the power of words and some people don't because they never learned it in public school. So I think learning conversation skills in public schools would be really helpful for us to be more sociable and it would be more practical and steady if we learn it in public schools.
Way of talking is really important to live in a society. To begin with, we have to change our way of talking according to persons we meet. It could be your friend, teacher, senior or someone you don't know. It's ok if it's your friends because you know how to play with them. But when it comes to someone you've never met before or seniors at work place, you have to know how to treat them. For example, when your senior coworker tells you're wrong and you think it's right, you shouldn't say "I think I'm right , you'd better check it again." directly. He will get upset and you will get in trouble though you are right. He's senior and you should talk in a different way like "Oh, really? Thanks for your advice I will check it again and I'll let you know.". And you can then tell him that you think you're right and he will admit it because you respected him as a senior first.
There are many books about conversation skills or how to deal with people. But, usually people read it once and forget about it. I've read this sort of book before and while I'm reading I practiced it well. After finishing that book, however, I forgot a lots of there skills because I didn't repeat it. That's why those skills should be taught in public schools. Teachers would make students really practice it as a homework and after several times of repeat, students will get used to it.
Learning conversation skills in public school would be really helpful and maybe more valuable than learning mathmetics or history. Since it is important to live in a society and school is a good place to practice it, I want to learn it in public schools.
