Those who tend to rely on other people like to ask others for advice when they are in trouble. They think it is the easiest way to get an answer for the problems. However, I strongly believe that by using knowledge and experience, we can find solutions for the problem. The rationale behind this is that we don't have to worry about time constraint and keep our secret we don't want to reveal.
First of all, we can save our time when we use our own knowledge and experience. If we seek to fine others for advice, we should spend some time searching for the very person and it may deteriate the situation. For instance, when I was playing basketball with my friend, he fell down with his leg twisted and broke his leg. While he was shouting with deadly pain, I called 911 instead of asking other people I know. I thought whether I should ask my sister in law, who was a doctor, which would take more time to figure out the solution. Thanks for my immediate action, he could arrive at the hospital in a short time and could get a well treatment.
Second, we can keep the secret by using our own methods. When we ask other people for help, we are unwillingly to reveal our defects or our private condition we don't want to share. It should'n be a problem if others are very reliable. However, there are more chances that our situation might be heard by others. In my personal experince, I asked my friend for help when I was broke up with my girlfriend. She started to be going out with my classmate and I was the only one who know the relationship between them. I thought my friend could help me out for recovering relashionship with her. However, he told others about my situation, and I was humilliated by others.
In conclusion, I think that relying on others is not a good method when solving our problems. This is because we can waist our time and let our secrets be revealed to others by them. All in all, we should try hard to get an answer from our own experince and knowledge. |
