▶ Your Answer : A large number of people might argue that it is impossible to learn to be a leader becasue leadership virtues are born gift. Contrary to popular belief, I think that it is possible to produce a great leader for the following reasons; leadership virtues can be developed by learning leadership materials and leadership experience.
First of all, a lot of leadership materials such as book, lecture, and school allow people to be trainned to become a great leader. It is obvious that learning from excellent leader who shows great leadership offers a leadership inspiration and courage. For example, when I was a group leader at high school, I was pretty timid person. Because of my inherent personality, it was diffucult to lead my class. But when I entered the university, I met a mentor of my life at enterpreuner club. He was a great leader in our club and showed a lot of leadership. By examing him carefully, I could find some principle of his leadership. Not only that, I was taught by him in personal through fellowship with him. As a result, I could improve my undeveloped leadership skills and became a great leader in our club too.
Moreover, leadership experience make it possible for them to become a great leader. It is commonly observed that many great leader were not a great person when they were young. However, as they experienced a lot of role required of leadership, their capacity of leadership became mature and proficient. For instance, the former president, Abraham Lincoln, is a great example of this case. He was not a great leader in his student life. Also, he had experienced a lot of faillur in his political life and election of president, he became a legendary leader in history of America. This shows that leadership skill can be developed by experiencing leadership role.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that leadershp skills can be obtained for the reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the importance of learning leadership virtue cannot be underestimated in order to produce a lot of leader in our next generation. |
