In life, people are bound to play some games whether they are for fun or for something important. Generally, people don’t like to lose and think it is only worth playing if there is a more chance of winning the game. However, I disagree with the people who think winning is the most important thing and playing a game is fun only when they win. Even if the outcome of playing a game comes out to be a failure, in the midst of playing a game people will learn a lot of useful lessons for living a life. One of the important lessons learned by playing a game is that people will learn to live by the rules and know that if they violate the rules, they will get punished somehow. Suppose there is a young boy playing chess with his dad. There are certain rules to be kept by either players such as only being able to move horses in certain paths. If the boy violates this rule and tries to move the horse in any way he wants for it move, his dad, being the opponent, will deter him from moving the horses and explain to him that there are certain rules to follow. Likewise, there are rules that people have to follow in everyday life and they can learn the importance of keeping the rules by playing a game. Therefore, playing a game teaches a great lesson for the players and it is worth playing it even if people lose the game. Another important lesson it gives is learning to accept the outcome of the game. Obviously people cannot always win the game, there are times when they need to accept that they lost and that the opponent is better than they are. In those cases, people will motivate themselves to be better next time and admitting that they lost will help them to be glad for the winner. This lesson is also very important in everyday life because there will be situations where people need to accept that they lost and accept the outcome. Accepting that there are better people than themselves will allow to have good relation with the opponent even after the game because accepting the loss will give a good impression on the opponent. Therefore, even if people lost the game, they need to learn to accept the outcome, which can be applied directly to everyday life. |
