■ Question Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Use specific reason and examples to support your answerTopic : What are some important qualities of a good friend? How have these qualities changed as you have gotten older?
Good friends should have many qualities which show that they are trsutworthy and true. Yet I have realized that as I have gotten older, the qualities that a good friend should have come down to two important features. I find that freinds who I value the most are those who are wiliing to help me out when Im in trouble and those who I can have long deep conversations with.
To begin with, willing to help friends out when they are in a big trouble would describe as good friends. This is largely because good friends truely care about what their friends going through whether it is good or bad circumstances. For instance, when I was a freshman in community college, I was absent a class the day before the exam. That day was so significant that professor reviewed all the materials we had covered for the exam and missing the class was my huge mistake. However, One of my close friends, Nick, When I asked him to let me know what information I missed for that day, he willingly lent his note-taking book to copy all the materials I should be aware of before the test. Without his help, I could have ruined the exam and regretted for not showing in the class. As a result of this, Nick and I have kept a good friendships even after class ended.
On top of that, It is evident that people need to have long deep conversations with someone once in a while. Best friends would be those who are willing to listen anything their friends have to say and share thoughts and feelings each other. Some people might think that it is a waste of time having long conversations becuase they are too busy to talk for a loing time. Despite this thinking, I enjoy having longer talks as I have gotten older. As such, having a friend who is willing to talk deeply to me is a core part of my idea of friendship. Without this willingness to talk, I have an incredibly hard time becoming close to someone. I am more likely to feel closer to friends who can have long conversations with and this is something I highly value in my current good friends.
To sum up, I firmly believe that these two features are what I find most important in a good friend. Ultimately, giving a hand in a tough circumstance and willingness to have long talk are necessary factors when it comes to the qualities of a good friend and they are the foundatin of nearly every friendship.
