The lecture discusses about the disadvantages of self employment and warning that it has much risks to take. It says it can be attractive, but it very hard for it to succeed.
First, the reading discusses that self-employment allows the person to get rich. But, 1. the lecture argues that being the boss doesn’t make a person rich with an absolute percentage. In reality, it is said (told) that 50% of self-employed fail within a year and 95% of them fail within 5 years. Moreover, even though the company survives, it only earns an average ( a modest) income.
참고해주세요. being boss doesn't exactly mean that a person becomes rich.
Second, the reading passage states that being the boss allows the person to determine one’s destiny. He should (or is allowed to) make (every) decision for every divisions (sector) of the company. It is referred as being the captain of the ship. On the other hand, the lecturer argues that being self-employed is a rough road full of doubts. Because the boss has to make tough decisions, take full responsibility for everything and 1. have has to carry/bear make countless sacrifices in order to maintain his position, head of company (the life of a boss).
1. 여기서 have 동사원형을 쓴 이유는 이 동사는 문장 처음 시작의 has to (because the boss has to~) 에 걸리는 동사이기 때문입니다.
1. Thirdly, the reading passage argues that self-employment gives the reward for of creating something from the 2. mistake (scratch). Watching growth of business (your business growth) is the reward that most entrepreneurs acquire. On the contrary, the lecturer discusses that there are no self-employed person who becomes wealthy riches to gain in self-employment businesses. Banks do not lend money loads to hopeless (uncertain) businesses and every financial obligation must be taken without any benefits such as health insurance, pensions and etc.
