It is widely accepted that only hard work can give birth to success. I partly agree with it, however, there is something being overlooked. Luck definitely has something to do with success for a couple of reasons.
First of all, no one related to success alone works for success. In other words, somehow luck plays a role in achieving objectives. If someone is convinced that hard work guarantees success, the person is living in delusion. I’d like to ask that kind of people “have you heard about how the cola, which is deemed one of the most influential inventions in modern society, was invented?”. Actually the inventor did not intend to make the irresistible drink at first. It is believed that when he was doing something else, he just found it. Like this, there are lots of cases that cannot be demonstrated only by hard work.
On top of that, luck is likely to accompany with chance that goes a long way towards success. My point is that hard work is only preparation for success. To go beyond the stage, you need a critical chance to the path of success. In my friend’s case, he had prepared himself to become a singer since he was in high school. One day he was doing a part-time to sing for customers at a café as usual. After his work, a guy who listened to his singing for whole time handed him a business card, saying “I am a music producer and I was fascinated with you. Will you work with me?.” Of course, this case might be rare, but the truth we should take a close look at is that luck is also a vital factor for success. In short, luck has a close connection to success in term of achievement of work and chance leading to the path of success. However, it should be noted that fortune is not a magic that realize irrational dreams. Like I said above, no single one alone bring you success. |
