In our lives, we encounter lots of situations, both including what we enjoy, and what we avoid and do not want to do. Although quite lots of conservative people maintain that we must do something although we do not want to, I disagree with this idea, because these ‘unwanted’ works are inefficient and work negatively both to him or herself and to the others.
Above all, doing things we do not enjoy will be not efficient. As many psychologist analyzed through centuries, result of the work depend on his or her ‘will’ to do – According to the research by Korean government, the forced laborers in jail tend to produce much more inefficiently, in contrast with the factory workers, who are hired officially. So, doing works which is involuntary will never be efficient.
Moreover, ‘unwanted’ works have a high tendency of working negatively for those who directly do it and those who are affected by it. There is a representative example of a construction company in México. The CEO of this company planned about building a 30-store-department store in a short time. Despite the disagreement of the workers, he pushed it ahead. The result was devastating – just a month after finishing its construction, the critical problem was found and company had to do reconstruction. This can be understood as the case, which the ‘unwanted’ things (works) caused damage both to who did it, and who were affected by it; the CEO-workers and the customers of the department store. Therefore, people should not do things they do not enjoy which might cause side effects some time.
In conclusion, I think that people do not have to do things as these kinds of works are really inefficient and have a possibility of unexpected side effects. I hope that the prior – conservative common idea could be changed that some unwanted works’ results are not as hopeful as most of the people think. |
