On any given day, it is inevitable to see fast food restaurants filled with customers. Even at home, people use microwaves rather than cooking in a traditional method. Although some people do not want to join the line of people who are yearning for hamburgers, I am optimistic with the influence those changes have on our society. They reduce the time of eating meal as well as offer a wide range of food.
To start with, the time needed to cook food has become dramatically shortened thanks to the advancement in food industry. Using microwave ovens, people warm up the frozen food and enjoy their meal in less then 5 minutes. Without this magnificent invention, every cuisine would have been heated on pan which takes much longer. More importantly, even though they are full of people, fast food restaurants make hamburgers, pizzas and cheese sticks in 5 minutes on average. It would have been impossible to eat these food at home due to heavy schedules. To demonstrate my point, my sister is one of the busiest person I have met. She has to take care of her meal in less than 10 minutes every time or sometimes do not even have time for it. However, thanks to new improvements, she can manage it without any problem. At morning, she can simply put frozen spaghetti in microwaves for 5 minutes while she is packing for her work. Also, in lunch, she can stop by Mcdonald, a burger place, and pick the burger up in a second. This is far more beneficial compared to the time she was once late for her work while cooking at home by herself. This clearly shows that recent changes are efficient method.
In addition to this, people can nourish themselves with diverse cuisines. If it were not for microwaves, they would have not experience precooked food that is displayed all over the place in the market. Endless menus in the restaurant are difficult and time-consuming to make at home, because of costly cooking devices and complicated recipe. For example, according to the research conducted by National Food Consumption Center, 45 percent of subjects explained the reason for going to fast food restaurant often as limited food range of home-made food. They are sometimes tired of eating the same food over and over, so they want to get off track to try something new. This studies clearly show the comfort of this innovation has given to public.
In brief, the benefits of microwaves and fast food store are significant as ever. They are time-efficient in preparing meal and prevents people from being sick of fixed menus at home. More restaurants should be built and useful devices like microwaves should be cheaper for widespread of these benefits. |
