▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, technology plays a significant role in many places where we study and play. Some people might say that development of technology harms children's creativity while others do not. If I were asked to answer, I would say that it improves children's creativity rather than damage it for a couple of reasons. First of all, advanced technologies allow young children to improve their creativity during learning process. State of the art devices used in learning process these days let instructors convey knowledge with dramatic sound and visual effects. While in the past, children had to learn something merely through repetitive television programs or boring text books, now, they can learn through various high quality contents, which reflect recent trend and can stimulate children's imagination. Therefore, the children educated by these tools are likely to be inspired and become creative during classes. To illustrate, when I was a child, I did not like either reading books or learning something. In particular, for me, many contents I could have access at home and classes of kindergarten seemed so boring and old-fashioned. On the other hand, my niece, six years old, enjoys learning and excitingly shows and explains about many things that he learned in kindergarten in an interesting way through creative paintings and his dairy. My sister, his mother, told me that if it was in the past, he might not have been able to enjoy learning, because though he is creative and fun, not very interested in repetitive or framed education. Fortunately, nowadays technologies equipped with creative and interesting materials help various children become appealed to classes as well as improve their creative, and My niece also benefit from them. In addition, the advance of technology lets children have easy access to many creative contents, regardless of the condition they are born with. In the past, for children to access high quality education, their parents had to pay a big fortune. Meanwhile, these days, owing to spread of technologies, including the Internet, people can utilize these contents with little fees or free of charges. As a result, the more children are able to take advantage of creative and high quality contents. According to an article that I recently read in a magazine, young children these days are far more creative than those of the past thanks to the advance of many technologies. They tend to be mature and express their thoughts well in their own way. Moreover, they have more opportunities to improve their talent and creativity in their routine through the contents in the Internet. To be specific, through the laptop and mobile phone, they can access and interact with many high levels of interesting contents. Thus, this article implies that children these days are more creative than the children in the past who tended to obey parents' and teachers' discipline and had framed thinking. As I have mentioned above, new technologies not only help children improve their creativity through learning process, not also have easy access to the quality contents. In these regards, I strongly disagree with the opinion that technology has made children less creative than they were in the past. |
