▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable whether watching movies
that teach something about life is better than entertainment movies. This is an
intriguing question because opinions concerning this issue can be different
depending on individual perspectives. In my opinion, however, I agree support
that watching educational movies is
better than entertainment movies.
Frist of all, people can broaden their
perspective by watching movies that people can learn something from it. It
exposes them to different lifestyles, customs and cultures. Such exposure is
likely to help them acknowledge that different values exist, understand this
diversity and be ultimately comfortable with it. For example, When I was
younger, I had not experienced other cultures, especially religious, as well as
met people from different countries. Therefore, I could never understand other
cultures, lifestyles and perspectives. By the way, when I was in high school,
my friend recommended me to watch foreign documentary movies such as "Who
is Alhambra". It was very interesting because it shows me a lot of new
things. Thanks to the movie, I gained a great amount of common sense and deep
understanding of Muslim. Afterwards, when I met my Muslim friend 'Muhammad' in
university, I could get along with him well and accept his own religious and
culture because I fully understood Muslim. Through this experience, I realized
that if I enjoyed only entertaining movies, I could never step out of narrow
views.
Second, watching movies that give lessons is beneficial
for students because it accompanies an important educational process. To be
specific, it creates opportunities for students to get comprehension of a
variety of issues, cultures from the movies. As a result, this allows students to stay
ahead and attain personal growth. To illustrate, a study was conducted by the
Korean Education Board to determine whether the movies that teach something
about life could affect student education. There were two groups monitored. The
first group was formed of people who watch educational movies regularly. They
were asked to take tests to measure their level of academic performances. The
other group consisted of people who watch entertainment movies and were given
the same direction. The researchers compared the outcomes and recorded that the
former group was able to attain better high scores than the latter. The reason
was that the students of former group learned a wide of issues, new high
vocabularies, and also valuable lessons that they have never got from
entertainment movies.
In
conclusion, I firmly believe that movies that teach something about life are
more helpful than entertainment movies. All things considered, It is my belief
that my argument regarding this topic can be effectively and precisely
delivered with the reasons mentioned above.
