These days, interests in proper education are rising increasingly among parents, students and educational authorities over the world. Roles of teachers have become controversial arguing whether teachers have to allocate more time and effort to help students acquire confidence than specialisation in subjects. Latter opinion is more widely supported as teaching is a fundamental duty of teachers and confidence should be gained through experiences not through others' help.
First of all, teachers are hired and employed according to their teaching skills, rich experiences and broad knowledge. Their abilities to guide students to be confident are not critically considered. The basic reason of attending school for students is also to learn particular subjects in depth. In order to find their own paths towards their future careers, students have to gain general information from each field first and decide specific subjects that they are especially interested or talented in. Teachers are responsible of educing and recognising students' potential and talent in the fields so that they have a sense of certainty when they decide. In other words, a sense of confidence is a final option among many other concepts that students need, thus, teachers should not concentrate providing help however; offer more counseling and their know-how.
Moreover, confidence and high self-esteem is not gained spontaneously but through a gradual process. Scheduling a regular program in a school time table is difficult hence, many schools only invite a guest speaker once a year. Speeches from guest speakers are powerful enough to motivate and inspire students at the moment; however, the power does not last long if not under students' consistent attention and effort. Students have to volunteer and involve actively in a vast range of chances such as public speaking, debating club and school committees. Participating in these events is the only way to gain confidence because talk from teachers or other elders will not affect them deeply and everlastingly.
By taking advantages of teachers' knowledge, students are endowed with their desired information and fulfillment of their hunger to learn. Participating in wholesome events inside and outside the school is the most effective way to acquire confidence. With high level of knowledge and confidence, students will grow into influential intellectuals.
