It is better to watch serious movies that are designed to make you think than to watch movies that are primarily designed to amuse or entertain. |
It is often said that watching serious movies is better than watching movies that are designed to entertain. Some people might agree with the statement because they give people life lessons. However, I disagree that watching heavy movies is finer than watching amusing movies because interesting movies help people relieve stress and build good relationship with peers. To start with, Nowadays, people are bound and driven by hectic schedules. They are stressed out by tons of tasks to be done until the due. It is laughter that they urgently need in order to refresh themselves and alleviate all the pressures. Of course, people seem to strengthen their thinking power by watching movies that require them to think. However, this can put them under more stress even after work. Thus, watching serious movies increases the inner stress of people and eventually worsen people's condition. To verify, according to a study released by the Korean Institute of mental science, those who worked after watching entertaining movies completed the same amount of workload 3 times faster than those who watched serious movies. This study reveals that amusing movies play a vital role in reducing worker's stress level and lead them to focus on their work later. In addition, movies that are designed to amuse have a positive effect on one's relationship with others. It is obvious that there are far more things to discuss with companions after watching movies that make you think. Nevertheless, it often results in conflicts because there is never a correct answer but people only argue for their own thoughts. Therefore, serious movies have no use in achieving good relationships with others. On the other hand, by laughing out together while watching the same movie, people feel the sense of unity and build stronger relationships than before. For example, when I first went out with my boyfriend, Daniel, I didn't know what to do because I haven't ever dated with a boy since then. We decided to watch a comedy movie and chose '50 first dates'. On the beginning of our date, both of us were so shy that we hesitated to start talking, however, we could easily talk about the movie after watching it. Looking at his smiling face while chatting, I could assure that he also had pleasing time with me and I felt comfortable. If I had watched movies such as 'the green miles' instead of '50 first dates', I would not be able to be on intimate terms with Dan. In short, I strongly believe that It is better to watch movies that are made to entertain than to watch grave movies because it is stress soothing and helpful in establishing deeper relationship with others who watched the same movie. All in all, the demand for exciting movies has increased and is increasing. |
