Macro Polo |
|
In this set of materials, both the lecturer and the reading deal with Macro Polo. Regarding this issue, the lecturer argues that Macro Polo visited china. This contradicts the writer’s claim that he did not visited china.
First, the lecturer goes on to say that the Persian name is the common language. China is huge country so it is many languages. Persian was used common language as Marco Polo written his book. This point refutes the writer’s argument that he did not visited china. This is because his name in Persian. His book and his Chinese language book has no his name. If he might be visited China geographical and proper evidence on his book.
Second, the lecturer argues that the tea culture did not spread the northern China. Macro Polo live in north or voyage outside. This counters the reading passage’s viewpoint that no information about the Chinese tea culture. It is important information and unacceptable oversight.
Finally, the lecturer mentions that Macro Polo his name on records. Chinese custom is not record on original name bit use Chinese name. We don’t know his Chinese name while he lived in China. He has might be a different name. This casts doubt on the writer’s claim that Macro Polo does not mention in any ancient Chinese records. Even though, he was important position and seventeen years in China. He does not ancient Chinese records, it is strange.
