Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television, newspapers, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. Use specific reasons and details to explain your opinion. |
Thanks to the development of technology, the activities that we enjoy during our leisure time have changed. Nowadays, we prefer sitting on the coach and watching TV. However, they are not as interested in society as old days. They ignore the issues that are very crucial for improvement of philosophy or social ideas, rather they are paying much attention to gossips which isn't meaningful at all. In other to meet the consumers needs , in my opinion, media watches the whole personal lives of famous people.
To be specific, they concentrate on things that have no relation with the person's work. To sell their newspapers and attract people to watch their program, they follow famous people especially entertainers without notice. There are plenty of pictures entertainers go out with their partners. By using those pictures they usually exaggerate some stories or even make false rumors that really make them feel embarrassed. According to the article, public don't doubt the story because they think there can't be those kinds of story if there isn't any causes. For instance, a Korean noted pop singer was related to bad rumor. That was she already married and had a baby. Korean people thought that she cheated all fans and is very dirty person because she had a sex with some guy. It is hard to be forgiven since Korea is conservative society. As a result, she disappeared with the rumor in spite of her competent talent. However, I think she was the victim of media for they have no right to invade one's privacy. The pivotal time is present not old days. From my view point, the authentic duty of media is just reporting the story truthfully. They should have attitude of understanding other positions. |
