▶ Your Answer : As everything in life is like a coin that has two different sides, people must weigh the pros and cons before jumping up to conclusion. After all, each and every question or topic requires careful deliberation in that there are multiple variables to a truth. Even though some may adamantly believe that taking public speaking class is necessary to university students, I think such opinion lacks coherence to some extent. In my humble opinion, forcing students to take public speaking class has many disadvantages. First and foremost, majority of individual would agree with the notion that students can improve their speaking skills in other ways. The main reason behind this rationale is that college students already experience several public speaking in high school. Moreover, stduents in university also have many public speakings in their classes. To illustrate more thoroughly, in Korea, many schools have many devate classes. Teenagers share their opinion about many topics such as politics, economics, and envirionments. Because teachers supervise students' debate, teens can get feedback from their teachers and correct their mistakes. In addition, teachers usually give points to students who participate in debate very actively or suggest good views, so children partake in discusstion and put a lot of effort to make good debate. These students already experiece public speaking, so they do not need to learn speaking again at university. Additionally, university students also have many opportunities to do publice speaking in their classes. Professors uaually give assignments that have to make a presentation, so students have to express their opinions or provide information to all students. Thus, students already do enough public speaking and have very good speaking skills. All in all, we can't and shouldn't overlook the fact that students can improve their speaking skills in other ways. On top of this, students have many other things to do, a widely accepted fact in modern society. In the eyes of many people in present day society, students have to get good grade and prepare for job. Besides, students who do not have enough money to pay tuition have to do part time job. A great example of this would be my older sister. When my older sister was university students, she was really busy and did not have time to play with her freinds. She majored in chemistry and she received many tasks. She always slept very late to finish her works and she could not sleep very well when she had exam. Unfortunatley, my parents did not give any money to my sister and she had to earn money by herself, so she also had to do part time job in caffee in order to pay tution and dormitory fee. Because her major was very difficult, she had to spend a lot of time to study her major. When she became forth grade students, she started to prepare for her job and became more busy. Therefore, if her school forced her to take some classes such as speaking classes, she could not concentrate on that classes and waste time. Long story short, it's clear as day to me that students hava many other things to do. In summation, yes, it's virtually impossible to provide completly satisfying answer to the open-ended question. Although the jury may be out, we can come to mutual agreement that forcing students to take public speaking class has many disadvantages due to reasons and details mentioned above.
