▶ Your Answer : Coordination in workplace has always been
sine qua non. We had to work in the physical office and gather around to
discuss about one agenda. This is the scene comes to my mind once I come up
with the office in the past. To process a big project, generate remarkable
performance, we have to keep communicating and collaborating with our
co-worker. However, compare to the past, has it become even more important? In
my opinion, it became less significant than the past. To
begin with, the development of the internet completely has changed the way of
work and reduced the importance of the ability being able to cooperate with
others. There is no restriction of the work by time and distance anymore.
People are able to work at their home and attend meeting online. Even if you
are not good at socializing, you still can process the required task smoothly.
A teacher I know from my childhood, she used to teach French in middle school
but it was different from her expectation and difficult to get along with
adolescent students. She decided to quit the job at school and launched her own
online course business. It didn’t only go well these days, also gave her
satisfaction of teaching and not having stress about relationship. On the
top of it, there are a variety of new jobs which don’t require coordination
with others appearing these days. A host of people around me have decided to do
work by themselves as freelancer. Through this, they can manage their time and
task without others’ intervene and they really enjoy it. One senior from my
university is working as a freelancer Chinese- Korean translator, all she has
to do is finish her work by the deadline. Last week, I have seen the advertisement
looking for freelancer IT developer and they just need to complete their task
on their own separately from other developers.
To sum
up, I believe because of the change of internet and industry, work trend has
changed. Thus, less work requires the ability of working together with others. |
