▶ Your Answer :Some people say that universities should spend more money on libraries than on sports. However, in my opinion, universities should expend as much money on sports as they do on libraries. This is because when students do sports activities, they can improve their health which would lead to develop academic achievement and meet many other people who have different background.
To begin with, active movements, such as football, basketball and swimming so on, would be able to enhance students' health care. As they play sports, they are able to relieve their stress from academic works and have strong immune system, but to this end, they are more inclined to study hard. For example, a study was conducted by Univ. Academic Association to determine whether students' health could affect their academic performance. The researchers monitored students' marked documents of 200 university students over 3 year period. What they found was intriguing. If student had played sports program, their grades inclined. This study proves that people who did sports are better to upgrade their academic works than those who did not. On top of that, if they join a sport club, they could meet up many other people. It leads to develop students' social net work. For instance, when I enrolled my university at first, I did not know anyone. I was very lonely and nobody helped me. So I had to do everything on my own like collecting materials about lecture, going to building where I did not know it's location. It was very hard to me. But when I joined a soccer club, I could make a lot of friends who had different major. And they taught me a variety of information about school life. So I felt more comfortable and happier than the past. To sum up, if students do more sports activities, they can not only have more healthy body which lead to improve their academic grades, but also get widened social network. In this regard, I firmly believe that it should be mandatory that universities encourage students to play activities by spending as much funding on sports as they do on libraries. |
