Students at universities often have a choice of places to live. They may choose to live in university dormitories, or they may choose to live in apartments in the community. Compare the advantages of living in university housing with the advantages of living in an apartment in the community. Where would you prefer to live? Give reasons for your preference. There are many advantages to living in a university dormitory and there are also advantages to living in apartments in the community. By and large, I would prefer living apartment to living in dormitory. You will never feel lonely in the dormitory. You will probably make many friends on your floor and near your room. You do not have to prepare your meals because there is a dormitory cafeteria. There are always many people who will be able to help you if you face troubles. You will probably be in close contact with many friends. But this may mean a lack of privacy. When you want to study or sleep, it may be very noisy. You may be share a space with your roommate who has different habits. In contrast, Living in an apartment will probably give you much privacy. You will also have more independence. If you want to watch TV with your close friend, no problem. Living an apartment is a wonderful adventure. But the bad side of independence is that there are more responsibilities for the many things we must do everyday. My preference is to live in an apartment in the community instead of university dormitories. I love to be independent. My apartment is my special place only for me. This is my reward for working hard at school. |
