TOPIC; Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Grades(marks) encourage students to learn. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
As a student, I agree that grades encourage students to learn. Of course, grades cause a competition and make students in a low grade try to rival. Also, they make strudents in a high score keep their high position as well.
Without grades, there would be no competition at all. Then, students will not study in order to win in a rivalry. Also, they are going to lose the meaning of study. Consequently, no grades discourage students from learning. Conversely, students learn and study hard in a competition and their grades arouse a sprit of competition.
To students who are bad at studying, grades make them try to rival. No one wants to be a tailender. Also, tailendenders want to get out of from the bottom. So in order to be free from the bottom. Students will study more and more. Thus, I agree with the statement that grades encourage students to learn and study hard.
In addition, grades make students who are good at studying study hard to keep their high marks. Everyone wants to be in the first class, and every student in the first rank wants to keep their position. In order to prepare for a new, mighty competitior, they have to study really hard. Therefore, it's certain that grades make students study more and more.
People may think that they will study really hard as students if there are no grades, but I don't understand. I think grade is the root of students' ambition to getr a better score. So I think grades are really essential for making students study much more.
