It is disputable whether when people
consider a major purchase, what factors has the greater impact on their
choices. Depending on one’s background and one’s personal experiences, one’s
perspective on this issue can significantly differ. That being said, in my
opinion, I advocate that recommendation from friends has the greater influence
on their choices for the following reasons mentioned above. First, information recommended
from friends is relatively truth. Second, people can have more interaction with
their friends
To begin with, review of friends is more faithful
than other options. To be specific, in these days, there is a lot of fake reviews
in media. Many advertisements attract consumer to buy useless products.
However, friends usually provide truth information with one. Since the friends
who recommend products have direct experience about products, their
recommendation is honest compared to magazines and online communities.
For example, when my notebook was broken
because of a spilled coffee, I had to purchase new notebook for my assignment.
I did web surfing to find valuable information about new notebook through online
communities, Youtube and websites. By virtue of recommendation in online
communities, I decided to purchase Gram notebook made by LG in Korea. By the
way, as I talked to my friend who used the same notebook, she made me stop
buying. When she used it, it had many imperfections such as slow speed and delay.
In conclusion of her direct opinion, I did not fault purchasing and bought another
model made by Samsung.
On top of that, recommendation from friends
allows people have more interaction with their friends. Generally, people are
influenced with their friend’s behavior strongly. Especially, students have
strong inclination of peer pressure. Given students buy products which are the
same friends those, student can have more conversation easily with their
friends about subject of same products. This pattern usually happens to people
and leads to receiving opinion from friends rather than other channels in order
to interact well with their friends.
For instance, my sister’s personal
experience can be used to valid the claim above. When she was high school
student, she was a very outgoing person. One day, she begged parents to buy a
new pair of shoes. The price of new shoes was so expensive because of its brand,
so parents rejected her hope. However, she required more seriously to buy the
new shoes. After all, my parents provide her with the new shoes she wants. Later,
I became to know about why she so wanted to buy the shoes. Since many of her
classmates had the shoes, it made her receive classmate’s recommendation and
tactic pressure for mingling with her friends.
To sum up, truthfulness of recommendation
from friends and communication with friends make people have the greater impact
on their choices. In conclusion, I am highly convinced that recommendation from
friends is the strongest factor of options for the two of great importance
reasons I mentioned above. |
