Most travel books which I have read so far were full of episodes that one author experienced during travelling. Generally the books contained what the author thought about themselves and the world. Even though I am not a expert traveller like these authors, I prefer to travel alone just as them. There are many reasons why I think so, here I present some of them.
First of all, travlling along provides me an excellent chance to be free from society and other people and to think about myself. It is true that human beings have to live with other people in the society. I am not exeptional and depenent on other people, for example, my family who supports me mentally. However, sometimes I feel too tired in talking with and listening to other people. Even though I feel confortable within friends and family, it is still necessary to communicate with them because they conjecture I may be upset if I do not speak or listen to them. I always have to care about what I have to do for other people and what they think about. Therefore, I need some time to forget the fact that I am a social animal and travelling alone is a very good way to be alone.
In addition, while travelling alone, I can control travel schedule as the way I want. It is requisite to make a plan for a trip and to focus on certain points of the travelling area because travellers do not have enough time to know everything about the area. However, it is difficult to make a perfect plan to satisfy both companions and myself when I travel with other people. For example, I usually concentrate on the local foods and the unique landscapes when I travel. I had some difficult time when I went to Paris with my younger sister because she wanted to visit museums instead of urban parks. Also, it is unevitable to encounter unexpected situations during travelling. It is not easy to change the schedule according to what happens in the travel areas when I travel with companions.
I have many experiences in travelling with my loved people and certainly there memories make my life happier. However, I still prefer to travel alone because it releases me from the socitey and provides flexible schedule. |
