In the situation where, in the society of the globalization, a migration or a movement to other countries to pursue the more decent life is a common to many people, the people migrating to other countries will face a conflict as to whether, when migrating, it is inevitable that in the new country where they migrate they should keep up with the customs of the new country. Of course, it is true that learning the new customs is beneficial in that they can live in the new country with less problems, as far as I know, however, following the new customs of the new country has not so much beneficial aspects as negative one. In this essay I will briefly present two reasons to support my assertion.
First of all, if they follow the new customs without any reluctancy, they will be able to lose their identitiy. To be specific, even if they live in a new place, they should embrace their patriotism and belonging for their mother nation. As from my experience, when I migrated to the Scotland for my father's career, since I did not have a kind of patriotism or identity, I could not help indulging in the customs of the new country, Scotland, so when I came back my own country, Korea, I could not find my identity. In this case, if I migrated to the new country with identitiy, I could not have suffered from the confusion.
Secondly, since the more moving they have, the more communities they will establish, it is not neccessary to follow the customs of the new country. The best example of this is The China town spreading all over the world. According to the result of research operated by United Nation, most of the chinese do not feel the cultural isolation thanks to the China town spreading all over the world, which is different from the people with another nationality. This is because The China town provide their accompanies with a variety of benefits such as shelter, food, and even educational institution.
To summarize, thanks to thes reliable facts and reasults, we can easily follow the claim that, with people moving new places, maintaining their own customs is more important than following the customs of the new country.
