It is often said that focusing on one project is preferable to trying to several projects at one time. Some people might disagree with this statement because, modern society requires a lot of responsibilities, in order to survive in this fast and complicated society, the ability to deal with several tasks at once is very crucial for today’s people. However, in my opinion, concentrating on one task is better than trying to many tasks at once for two reasons: high quality of work and perfect finish.
To begin with, the quality of work will be higher when one focuses on a single task. This is because, taking on several projects at one time makes it harder for people to put in 100 percent. This gives rise to unsatisfactory results.
To demonstrate, according to the Ministry of Education of Korea in 2007, students who assigned on individual projects better performed by 60 percent than those with multiple tasks at a time. This implies that a person who takes on a single task at a time is more likely to produce better results.
In addition, taking on a single project allows people to focus more, leading to complete finish. It is commonly observe that people tend to plan out many tasks in hope of completing them all, but people end up giving up in the middle, nothing actually gets done. For example, when I was a sophomore in college, I tried to take 19 credit hours in a single semester to graduate faster. However, I had to drop half of the subjects due to a lot of homework and stress, eventually I had to retake half of them. In the end, I got only frustrated and confused with nothing to complete them and waste a lot of money and time.
If I had taken less credit at a single semester, I could have spend more time on not many subjects end up result successfully
In brief, concentrating one specific task provide people not only with high quality of results but also with perfect finish. Although today’s society requires a lot of things but accuracy should be based on these things. All in all, taking on a single project cannot be underestimated in this competitive modern society.
