▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable whether teenagers are more
influenced by their friends than anyone else. This is an intriguing question because
opinions considering this issue can be different depending on the individual
perspectives. However, in my opinion, I disagree with the idea for two reasons,
which I will explore in the following essay.
To begin with,
young adult spend majority of time with their friends. Nowadays, many parents
are busy at work so they cannot spend much time with their children. Thus,
teenagers naturally have more time with friends socializing. I will give my
personal experience as an example. When I was a high school student, my parents
were too busy to expend time with me although I need more affection from them. However,
my mother and father did not care of me, so I utilize most of time with my
peers. We spend all day sharing and consulting our problem. Thus, I thought
they understood me better than my parents did. Therefore, teenagers are
received impact by their peers.
On
top of that, young people are susceptible to the peer pressure. Lots of
students would like to be recognized and be popular. Therefore, they
participate in behaviors that impress friends, even though it requires bad
attitude towards other people. For example, there was a survey conducted by
Teenager Communication Center with 500 students as respondents. The purpose was
to determine whether they do something special to be recognized by their peers.
Undoubtedly, 89% of answerer replied they do so. Since, they wanted to be one
of popular person among their friends. This proves that teenagers are
influenced by their peers.
To
sum up, young people make use of much time with friends. Moreover, young adult
are careful about the peer pressure. In this regard, I strongly agree with that
friends more affect teenagers than other people.
