With the globalization(=In the age of globalization) , lots of modern people emigrate to other countries for various purposes. However, living in new countries, some of them collide with a kind of barrier, the inherent customs which are different from their countries' ones.(=However, some people face a lot of limitations while living in other countries such as a racial barrier.) I think the adherence to the original ways of living in the past is not desrible to emigrants. Because, it might be hard for them to get along with neighbors and they will be limited to the rules of that countries in doing what they want .
with limited perspectives ,thus results limited opportunity to settle down in the new countries.
Most of all, it can be a hard time for them to live with neighbors friendly. There is a saying "Birds of feathers flock together". People have a tendency to be attracted to the one who shares the same ideas with themselves. In this context, the original people residents will not treat you friendly if you do a new-comer does not act like them.(한문장에서 you를썼으면 계속 you로..) For example, serveral days ago, an american came to my fitness club. However, most of people hated him because he always needed others' help when he lifted the weight while although they are all busy doing their own excersizes(exercises). He told me that he that was a rasonable requirement in his country(He told me that asking questions is a reasonable act in the gym in his country.). He should change his mind if he wants to get along with Koreans in the fitness club.
On top of that, people feel uncomfortable because they will be limited to the original rules. Although they are not punished by breaking the rules, some rules can be hassle to the one who are not accustomed to the new customs. For example, In Switzeland, most of houses, shops turn off the lights before seven in the evening. However, that time is the start of a new day for Korean. After leaving out of their workplaces or schools, they usually do their personal schedules like meeting friends in a pub, going out for a dinner and so on. Due to this difference of patterns of lives, Korean will be very limited in their activities in Switzeland. 이 paragraph 마지막으로 그래서 이렇다 한문장 더 써주시고요...(토픽)
All in all, people who move to the other country should adapt to the customs of the country because they can not make a good relationship with neighbors and it is not comfortable to be stuck in different lives by such new customs. In short, the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is not confined to the one who move to Rome. (음.. 이것보다.. There is a saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." which implies that whoever wants to settle down in a new country should follow the new customs and rules rather than their old cultures. 뭐 대충 이런식으로....) |
