Some university students arguing that club activities are waste of time at worst and a good diversion at best, are refrain from taking part in extracurricular activities. However I strongly believe that student should partake in club activities because they can learn interpersonal skill. In other words, students are able to leartn team spirit. also, these activities teach them how to adjust their conflicting interests.
First of all, students can learn group spirit. Almost all the clubs in a universities have its congenital goals, and members of clubs strive to achieve these goal. They often divide their role, such as leader or financial manager, set up smaller targets to achieve their main goals, and incorporate all the energe of colleagues to do well. In this way they learn how to cooperate with each other. For example, the annual goal of a soccer club of my university is to win The Soccer World Cup between universities. To get this goal. Players divide rolls such as forward, wing back, midfielder. Then arrange numerous soccer games with other team. When playing they also cooperate each other by passing a boall through openings. As a result, it is said that, the team spirit of soccer club is pretty strong.
Furthermore, when getting along with club members, one can automatically learn how to control and meet memebers' interests. When there are over two people there must be a confliction. For simple instance, when going out to have lunch there frequently are different needs. In extracurricular activities there shoud be much more conflictions because there are a lot of members and on the way of activities there must be conflictions. However, in the course of controlling their needs one can learn interpersonal skills such as giving and take.
To sum up, club activities have positive effect on students, because they teach them team spirit and adjusting each other's interst. All in all, since the goal of universitie is to nurture dominating classes of society, these factors shouldn't be underestimated. |
