Some people think that people should do someting which they like to do because it is more efficient than doing them not to want to do. On the other hand, others believe that people need sometimes to do tasks even though they do not enjoy them. I strongly concur with the latter on several reasonable points. With specific examples, I can mention why I think so.
Among Korean famous maxims, there is "Foods for good healthy have a bitter favor." This means that people should undergo difficult and arduous process to obtain something better, having the same meaning to "No pain, no gain." For example, students have to study hard if they want fo go to a good university posited in a high rank or to get a better job than those of others. However, no students enjoy to study. Although most of students dislike or even hate to study, they well know it is inevitable for their future. I also hated to spend my time for studying when I was a university student, but I had to study to get a job. As the result, I was hired by a good company and could enjoy more enjoyable life.
After entering a company, I recognized that the most important thing is to conduct my obligation and responsibility when I work. Sometimes, I was responsible for tasks which I did not hope to do. Since it was very difficult that I enjoyed to do the tasks since I never wanted to do them. However, I had to do them to accomplish projects or tasks in which many fellows were involved. It was not only my responsibility in the company but co-operational behavior required by organization. People are social animal so that it is important for them to adapt the group or community where they belong to. When people complete things not to want to do, the group in which they commit may gain better consequences.
Therefore, when it comes to high possibility for better future and responsibility for the group, I firmly agree with this opinion that people should do things even though they do not enjoy to do them. If people conduct unenjoyable tasks for the group spotaneously, the group could achieve more outstanding results as well as better group atmosphere by compromise. |
