·There are two kinds of knowledge. Knowledge gained from experience and Knowledge from books. some people say that knowlede from experience is more useful and faithful. But others say that since we can not go through everything, it is very important to gain indirect experience from books. There are two interesting story which is connected with this in China.
First story is about 'Yubi' who established 'chok' dynasty. When he was young, he had strong enthusiasm to learn and he read a lot of books to learn. But, one day, he met an old man who looks so intelegent and intuitive. He intimited to 'Yubi' that knowledge gained from books are not as important as that from experience. Yubi followed his direction and struggled to gain more knowledge which is gained from experience. Later, this effort played an important role in establishing 'chok dynasty'. This story shows the importance of knowledge from experience.
But, there is another story that indicate the importance of knowledge from books. The story is about 'Kang tae kong' who had his boss unify all the China's subordinate country. He did not do anything but reading books until he was eighty, but finally, his knowledge from books became useful when he met his boss. Even thouth he rarely go outside before, he knew almost everything about how to mange army and defeat opponent. This story shows us not just that it is important to get knowlege from books but also that it could be superior to that from experience.
I think both kinds of knowledge are important . Ofcourse, kowledge from books can not be applyed exactly in virtual life. But it is also true that if we read lots of books, we can have a lot of indirect experiences and figure out proper chices. Therefore, if we want to be wiser, we have to appreciate the importance of experience and also, read a lot.
