The importance of taking a break is known to everyone. However, the time for taking it should be considered carefully. Having one-year long break before entering a university, I believe, is not a good idea for students if I consider the delayed time for pursuing advanced academics and the importance of getting a stable job early.
First, students should pursue their academics in university as early as they can. The more they delay learning academics, the later they get to learn advanced subjects. To illustrate, my cousin went to college one year after than his friends. After resting one year, he went to university as a freshman while the others were sophomores. When studying psychology, he wanted to apply for further study and hoped to take an advance course on the same subject. However, this course was not open to freshmen and he had to wait one more year to take the lecture. He would have entered university right away had he known how fascinating pursuing academics in university was.
Second, it is important that students finish their degrees early so that they can get a stable job. Holding two tasks at the same time; studying and working is very demanding for most students. To illustrate, my friend had to study in the university while working nightshifts to earn money. However, this labor at night delayed her graduation period since she kept failing in her studies. She couldn’t manage studying and working at the same time. Whenever she had heaps of assignments and tests, she couldn’t endure all these tasks. It might have been better if she had only concentrated in her studies. Then, she might have been employed to a company in which she could work at least a decade. This reflects that getting a diploma first is the best approach to getting a job early.
In conclusion, students should not rest one year before entering university because they will be able to do sophisticated studies and get a stable job earlier than those who decide to take it. They will be able to progress farther within a short time. |
