In this highly-complicated urban society, it is inevitable a lot of people working together in the same place. Since a working place is also a community comprises people, each person has a distinct characteristic and thus, a lot of arguments and fractions exist everyday. People who are socially at ease and have a sense of acumen will be more likely to be welcomed in any group they belong to than those who are not.
First, a good social skill is a primary trait of a highly-praised co-worker. That is, people those who are choleric and make acerbic comments on their jobs will not be considered as a desiered company. For example, my cousin graduated one of the best universities in the States whereas he was quarrelsome and always made complaint about his surroundings. He was not relating well with his colleagues in the company and isolated. Although he was astute and always did his best for the company, he was eventually fired because he hindered teamwork of a whole group. This shows how a social skill plays a significant role in the community.
Also, in this rapidly changing business world. a person equipped with business acumen is always welcomed. This is because of the fact that creativity accounts for a great proportion to a company's profits. My eldest sister, for example, has an acute business sense and always plays an important role in making decisions. She is very shrewd at solving a problem by immediately figuring out what the core of the situation is. Now she established her own company and it goes very well. She still keeps in touch with her ex-colleagues and helps them whenever they are in trouble.
In conclusion, therefore, amiability and sharpness both together are very important skills that required for a good team-worker in society, especially in business world. Although the office is where people get together for a financial reason, it is basically a community consists of human-beings. Hence, people who are easily tempered and have a negative outlook on life will not be able to succeed in business life as it is in other communities. |
