Unlike other species, people lack indigenous abilities to survive from harsh environment. However, they have come up with a variety of ways to survive from extreme competitions for survival, and one of them is cooperation. That is, people form groups and organizations ranging from family to international organizations such as the United Nations to have more chances of survival. If this is applied to a recent era, the reasons for people to cooperate in forms of organizations or groups are to raise productivity of works and to rationally solve certain problems.
If people bond together to make organizations or groups, they could have efficiency on their works. This is because they could share works with others, and thus focus on works they could specialized in. As a result, people could do what they could do the best, increasing wealth and productivity of whole society. To be more specific, in a book named The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith, who coined the term liberalism, stated the importance of cooperation. In his theory, when only one person makes hairpins, he could only make few of them. However, if people collaborate to make hairpins, they could produce thousands of them as they could split the works into pieces and share with one another. Thus, each person could concentrate on the tasks they could make utmost efficiency. In this is way, the whole society could enjoy wealth that has ever achieved. Hence, people unite together to form groups of organizations to raise productivity of works.
Moreover, people make groups or organizations to devise solutions for various problems. There are some problems which are quite hard for an individual to solve it by him/her self such as disparity of wealth and the poor. To cope with this sort of situations, people tend to cooperate in groups or organizations. For example, Non Government Organization (NGO) emerged itself to count a lot of problems happening in the world. The movement was particularly conspicuous when it comes to environmental problems. The protest of emission for harmful gases from one person might not be effective. However, when many people participate in the protest, they could combine power to change the world. In other words, participants actively take part in lot of activities to protect the nature, which surely has a positive impact on the world, or the whole species. Therefore, people are combined as groups or organizations to solve world-wide problems.
In conclusion, people collaborate in groups and organizations to have efficiency on their works and come up with solutions of a number of world-wide problems. As a matter of fact, the tendency could be result of people's wish to meet and interact with one another. |
