Topic :Rewarding students for their effort is more importatnt than rewarding students for their achievements

In today's world, people are trying to find the most ideal education policy. Some people
believe that the only way students should qualify is based on their achievements. However, I firmly believe that students should be rewarded for their efforts. The rationale behind this belief is that doing so provides a great motivation to students. On top of that, It teaches students an invaluable lesson of life.
To begin with, students are motivated to work hard when they are given rewards for their efforts. This is because students get impressed the most when their efforts are recognized by others. To cite a personal example, when I was in high school, I found it extremely challenging to do well in math. It seemed like no matter how much I tired and how much time I spent, my efforts were only a drop in the bucket. Fortunately, my math teacher rewarded me after a christmas exam for getting the most improved score. The teacher said that the score increase reflected my efforts and my devotion to the subject. Therefore, even though I did not achieve a high grade in the subject, he thought I deserved the reward. After I got the reward, I became motivated to study hard than ever before. As a result of my continous effort, at the end of year I got one of the highest grades in math and was also named student of the year. If it were not for the reward for my effort, I would never have accomplished anything and would have given up the work.
In addition, rewarding students for their efforts teaches them a very imporatnt lesson about life that achievements are not everything. It is true that the majority of yougsters in the modern world possess the tendency to value only the final outcome, and ignore the steps and efforts requried to make such an achievement. However, as the popular saying goes, Rome was not built in one day. Doing the work constatnly paves the way for success. In this respect, students have to make a decent effort in order to achieve the most desirable result in their life. If students know that their efforts are at least as important as their achievements, they are not likley to be frustrated when they fail to achieve what they want, but instead, they will continue to make an effort until they achieve their desired result.
In conlcusion, I strongly believe that it is much better to reward students for their efforts than for their achievements. The truth of this argument becomes clear when we consider factors such as how motivated students are to work hard when they know their efforts are well recognized, and also how students who are rewarded for their efforts learn the principle of life that without painstaking effort, great accomplishments can never be made. People should know that grades do not always reflect students' commitment to a subject, but students' effort directly indicate their devotion to their work.
