Youth is often wasted on the young in the rush to be older. Since many young people mistakenly believe that they will be happier when they get older, they spend their youth on preparing for seniority. However, from my point of view, young people definitely can better lead a happier life than older people. This largely because young people have less obligations and they are physically more active.
To begin with, young people have much more opportunities to enjoy their lives since they have fewer things they have to care for. As people age, a lot of responsibilities start to burden them down preventing them from engaging in various activities they wish. To take an example, last year, my coworkers and I planned for a trip to America. Even though the members were only five, it was not easy to make schedules available to all of us since two of them had children and hudsband to take care of unlike other younger members. Even after making a plan, the two members couldn't join the trip since they were too worried about their family members that they couldn't leave their home for such a long period. As a result, only the other younger three members went on a trip and had fun thinking that we should enjoy our free time as we are still young ahd have nothing to take care of.
Additionally, young people can live more enjoyable lives because their physical health dosen't restrict their activities. This gives them a wider range of options than older people, offering ways to find happiness in life. That is, unless you are physically healthy, it is hard to live a life to its fullest. To illustrate this point, my grand father looks back his life with regret. My grand father was a man of great strengh and used to love hiking in the mountains when he was younger. Although he has much more leisure time since he has recently retired from his work, he cannot pursue his hobby anymore as his health deters him from engaging in physically demanding activities. He misses his old days when he went on trekking to the Himalayas in Nepal and makes it clear to me that I should fulfill whatever dream I have when I am still young.
In closing, young people's lack of obiligations and physical health leads to their greater enjoyment of life compared to old people. Young people should certainly cherish their youth while they can, since this is the olny time that the young will have this invaluable opportunity for happiness. |
