24th of May is my birthday, and I have received a gift of money from my uncle. The money is enough to buy concert tickets or a piece of jewelry I want to have. Among them, I would buy concert tickets rather than a piece of jewelry. There are several reasons why I think so, and here I present three of them.
First of all, I believe cultural experience is more valuable than substantial material. A concert which is a part of culture is composed of performances from many different kinds of art such as music and painting. It is helpful to develop my sense and emotional sensibility and it can evoke my creativity and ingenuity. These ability is important to live in this multi-disciplin society. On the contrary, a piece of jewelry cannot give this kind of experience.
In addition, the impacts which a concert can provide lasts longer than a piece of jewelry. The story or details of the concert can diminish as time passes by. However, the impression can continue and affect the remaining of my life unintentionally. On contrast, the satisfcation which a piece of jewelry can some possibility I can lose it forever. Besides, I think I have to remember the favor of somebody who gave me the gift. I can obtain happy memory with the concert rather than with a piece of jewelry and his favor will be never forgettable until I completely forget about the concert.
Finally, I can share the pleasure with other people. The amount of money is enough to buy several tickets but not only one ticket. I will be happier to attend the concert together with my loved family or friends than to buy a piece of ear rings for only myself.
To conclude, I would purchase concert tickets for me and my loved people because the concert can provide me long lasting cultural memory which can help me remember my uncle's favor and happy time with my loved people. I strongly believe this memory is more valuable than a piece of jewelry of which meaning can easily fade out. |
