It is true that many people do not content with what they have, but tend to inquire something new one. As for me, however, I prefer to having the old one. This is due to the fact that not only can it give me sentimental value, but also it is convenient.
To start with, people can satisfy with their belongings because of its emotional value. Of course, I am aware that there are so many people who constantly require newly updated possessions. This can be the case, however, in my opinion, we must not overlook the invariable value of the possessions. Let me give you an example for supporting my idea related to my experience. When I was young, I would like to take care of my belongings. Especially I like to bring my wallet when I went out. I soon felt that I need new wallet and I bought another one. It seemed like my habitual customs which showed my unsatisfaction about my belongings. A few years later, I met my girlfriend and she gave me a nice wallet. Since it was the first present that she bought to me, it was very precious and it meant a lot for me especially its sentimental value. Now, I still like the wallet and never have felt regret or disatisfaction about it almost last two years.
On top of that, it is so comfortable to have accustomed belongings. Although more and more people like to have the newest one such as a car, a computer, or a cellphone, I think the old one has its own advantages as well. For instance, a couple of weeks ago, I met a friend of mine whom I haven't met for a long time. While we talked together, I found that he had a cell phone which was very old model. It was about 7 years-old model. According to him, no matter what his friends said that 'What a suprising!' or 'Why do you still have such a big weapon?', he never cared about it. Rather, he likes his phone till now because it is very comfortable to use, and even there is no special reason why he abondon such a well-made thing. Because that still works perfectly, he was very satisfied with his old cell phone. This well illustrates that people do not need to desire something new without special concerns.
Taking all of these things into account, possessing the old one rather than the new one is better option because of its sentimental value and convenience.
