As society is developed, people's everage level of knowledge is increased and competition became severed. In this society, spme people say that modern people spend too much time on their peosonal activities because number of hobbies also increased and diversivified with social development. However, In my point of view, modern people can not spend their time on personal pleasure because responsibility they have to take is too heavy to them ; accumulting career and raising children.
To begin with, In order to survive in modern community, they should make efforts on their works ceaselessly. In past, since most of works which support our society required labor force, people could find their work whenever they wanted. However, nowadays, city is filled with skyscrapers and most of works are related to high-technology industry and survice industry. Unfortunetly, proper degree of knowledge is integral in this field. And even companies want better workers. In this regard, people hardly can pay attentions on their personal activities. To illustrate this, My grandfather was a carpenter. He could not recieve standard education because of monetary problem. Before became a carpenter, he didn't do anything without his hobby, football. However, he succed to establish successful company after being a carpenter. In contrast, my brother graduated famous university and got good grades in school. However, he is struggling to find employment but it seems so hard for him because there are lots of competiter around him. For him, spending time on pleasure is waste of time.
On top of that, as a parents, people should feed their children. In Korea, raising baby is backbreaking responsibility therefore parents can not make time for their personal pleasure. For example, my parents are managing a small restaurant. My sister is in university and tons of money is spent for tuition annually. Moreover, I will go to university next year. Needless to say, financial burden that is taken by my parents will be doubled. In order to earn the money, my parents work fifteen hours everyday without holidays. My parent's hobby is making pot and taking pictures. Nowdays, clay in father's room is already solidified and mother's camera is broken down and will not be refaired.
In conclusion, I totally disagree with the suggestion that people spend time on personal pleasure too much because modern people are not only suffering from burden of accumulating career, but also they should support their kids. For them, personal activities are nothing but a waste of time and money. |
