▶ Your Answer : Many people think that it is not a good idea that applying strict rules to children for their sucess. In my opinion, however, strict rules are necessary to them for obtaining success. I think this ways for two essential reasons. First, having a freedom can lead children to bad way because they are too young to decide. Although it is true that every human has a right to do what they want to do, young children need some stricts because they can not know what is right yet. For example, assume that there is a boy who wants to be a singer because he watched some TV programs showing many singers who earned a lot of money. He thought that the only way to obtaining success is being a singer, so he watched TV all day long with not doing study at all. For fixing such a wrong idea of a child, parents should set strict rules such as studying for two hours for watching TV. If they do not set rules, the boy can not be able to succeed in life, because the only thing he will do is watching TV. Second, setting strict rules can help children to make their own rules. It is true that strict rules made by parents will be arduous thing to young children. However, after adjusting to it, they can develope themselves more. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When i was a middle school student, i have to study at 7:00am because my mother asked me to do it and if i do not follow it, i can not eat a breakfast. It was a disaster to me and i always wanted to sleep more rather than to suffer at desk. However, when i became a high school student, i woke up early still and I could study more even when many other students was sleeping, so i could get a good score. I wanted to be more successful, so i made my own rule which was studying at lunch time and if i did not achieve it, i did not sleep as a punishment. Thanks for such rules, finally i could enter the EWHA university, which is the best school in Korea. In conclusion, it is better for parents to set stirct rules if they want their children to become a winner in life. The reasons are that children are too young to decide without needs and they can also make thier own rule after following parent's rules. |
