Some people think that it is better for
young people to select a job in the different career as their parents than to
choose a same field for themselves. However, in my opinion, it is more beneficial
for young people to get a same job which their parents have. This is because
young people do not have to consider what kind of job to get and they are likely
to receive help from their parents easily.
To begin with, many young people have
trouble selecting their job in the future. Even, some students would not decide
to choose what they want to be until in their twenties. However, if they follow
their parents’ way, they will solve this problem readily.
For example, a study was conducted by Students
in the Future to determine whether their parents’ occupation could affect their
job. The researchers monitored the job of 200 students over a 3 year period.
What they found was intriguing. Almost all of the students selected the job
whose their parents have. They said that it would be easier to choose their
career than when they did not think of it.
On top of that, they cannot help getting
more information from their parents. Because they are able to question about
the job whenever, they will have a variety of knowhow and tips. And this will
lead them to advanced person.
For instance, there was a poll conducted by
‘What do You Want to Be’ with young students as respondents. The purpose of the
survey was to understand the consensus view about having job. The majority of
the respondents ranked following their parents’ career over choice different
job. An overwhelming 70% of students had responded that it will be more helpful
for them as they could get useful advice easily. This survey proves that people
have a positive view of selecting a job in the same field as their parents.
To sum up with, because they do not have to
have difficult time to choose a job and could get more information of the field
easily, it would be better way for them.
In this regard, I firmly believe that it is
the best method for young people to select the job of same field with their
parents. |
