Most people in Korea think independence day as a one big celebration and success of our Korean racial. Nevertheless, many people forget about predecessors of 1930s who were warriors and intelligent people. I believe independence from Japanese concur was totally came from efforts of them. Likewise, You-goun-soon who was women really fought for our Korean glory and also she is escaping from our contemporary Korean. In this situation, I want to make holiday for her.
Firstly, I want adults to teach about You-goun-soon to their children. Most of people, especially children who lived in foreign countries for few years could not remember the reason why we celebrate and remember independence day. Most surprising for me was that many elementary students even did not know the presence of that day! In these circumstances, by teaching about You-goun-soon who was warriors and really made an effort to get independence for our Korea, I believe children know the essence and importance of that day. So, they will have identity and be proud of the fact that they are the children of Korea. Moreover, by learning about her difficulties such as humiliation and assault from Japanese soldiers, I think they will aslo endure their hard situations.
Secondly, I will like people to celebrate her by giving 5 to 10 minutes thought. It might be true that she did not contribute that much to Korea since there were many people like her. However, she is enough to get at least a thought and thanks from us. She showed power of women in Korea and she did what she trusts and followed justices. So, because our Korea has stood thanks to her devotion, people should think of her. They should think what she did to our Korea and if they have chances, they also have to talk with their children.
In conclusion, I want to celebrate You-goun-soon who was the great person in our Korea. Even though I’m young, it is sad for me that children are forgetting about independence day which is very important in their Korea. I believe they might loose their identity. So, in this situation, by celebrating her efforts could be optimal choice for me to teach about our Korea’s glory. |
