With the help of the Internet, students can learn more effectively. |
It is generally said that students can learn more efficiently by using the Internet. Some people might agree with this statement because of distance learning. However, I disagree that the Internet help students learn more effectively because too much information made time to study consumed. Furthermore, most web pages may include information that is not reliable.
First of all, the Internet makes students waste their time to study. This is because most search engines require passing through many web pages that is just advertisements. To put it again, students can not help but filter a lot of information that they gather. Even if some people might say that it is not necessarily true, I have the following example that can support my opinion. From my personal experience, I was searching the information about traveling other countries due to my home work in my general subject class. However, I was disappointed with the information that I collected because almost of that are just advertisement. This is one of the reason that I support the study without using the Internet. In addition, the web sites may include questionable information. This is because anyone with basic computer skills can access and declare the information that may be wrong but people believe it is right. The best example of this is the encyclopedia, the largest reference web site. According to the survey recently released by the famous MR institute of research in Korea, the accuracy of information in paper-printed encyclopedia is higher than that online. This is another reason that I opposite the study with the Internet. To summarize what I have said until now, I strongly believe that using the Internet is not helpful for students to learn more efficiently. The reasons behind this are that the information are too much and not reliable. All things considered, there is no doubt in my mind that no one can deny the importance of the disadvantages by studying with the Internet. |
