Both the reading passage and the listening passage discuss the topic of
hypotheses of changing the color of the moon.
The author of reading argues that known as transient lunar phenomenon, or TLPs, is
the reason why the moon is transformed and is a matter of a myriad of interesting and
believable speculation whereas the lecturer of the
listening contradicts the reading. The two each
provide three reasons to support their arguments.
To begin with, according to the
article, there are is one possible hypothoses
hypothesis
that argues that clouds of lunar lunar clouds has are bringing have brought about the phenomena. This theory is that
gases beneath the surface of the Moon are sometimes released into the lunar atmosphere, which allows people to observe the gas clouds. However, the speaker
argues that the hypothesis is problematic in
that the clouds of lunar gas fleck out. So this event will make it impossible
for people to observe this clouds.
Furthermore, it is also argued
that some scientists speculate that TLPs are illuminated clouds of dust
floating above the lunar landscape. They surmise that particles from space
strike the Moon's surface. On the contrary, the lecturer claims that this
the theory above mention is not true
because experts would not know how much gas exist there. In order to be
visible, the gases have to be gathered enormously.
Finally, the reading
passage points out that researchers maintain that TLPs are engendered by solar
radiation. On the other hand, the professor says that this theory is popular
but data to support this hypothesis is
insufficient. Also, solar radiation does not correlate to moon's bright the brightness of the moon.
