Some people might contend that parents should spend time with their children by playing games or sports since children have to study in the school. In my opinion, however, I firmly believe that it is more preferable for children to accomplish schoolworks with their parents. There are three compelling reasons for my assertion.
First, spending study time with parents are able to build strong study habits for children. For the elementary school student, they are more likely to affect by their surrounding. Also, it is proper time to build a study habit. Parents should teach their youth to finish their schoolwork first and do whatever they want. Spending study time with their parents not only benefit children but the parents also benefit. Children feel more comfortable to learn with their parents. Parent can analyse their children's study level and help them out.
Second, some schoolworks require to do something with their parents. Schoolworks are not just solving math problems, writing and so on. Some are visiting museum, reading books and so on. Children can not only have fun with their family but also do their assignment from school. This gives rise to build a strong relationship between parents and children. To give you an idea, I would like describe the research from the University of Tokyo. They interviewed both parents and their children. The researchers asked to the children about how they do homeworks on the whole. For both the parents and the children, they interviewed the relationship between their children and them. Surprisingly, for the children who spend more study time with their parent had a strong relationship for both the parents and the children. On the contrary, the children who do their homework by themselves think they have a weak connection with their parents. The result demonstrates that the importance of spending time with their children.
In conclusion, for all these reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly support the idea of spending study time with children rather than playing games or sports.
