▶ Your Answer :
Undoubtedly, scientists' findings play a
significant role in people's daily lives in many of the places where they work
or play. Some people might say that scientists are responsible for side effects
of their invention, while others do not. If I had to choose one, I would say
that scientists do not need to shoulder responsibility for the problems caused
by their findings.
First of all, the side effects of research
finding are not mainly caused by the inventor. This is mainly due to the user.
For example, in the past, scientist invented dynamite as a tool for helping
construction and mining. Thanks to the dynamite, building a home, bridge, and
others become easier than the past. However, some people use the dynamite as a
weapon. And it leads to the brutal massacre during many wars. When Alfred Novel
invented the dynamite, he did not make the dynamite for the purpose of killing
people. Since some people use the dynamite as a weapon, thousands of deaths
occurred. There is also other example. Scientist and engineer invented car to
improve the life of people. It made people to easily travel long distance.
However, some people blame the car's invention because of the car accident. The
car accident generally occurs due to the lake of knowledge about driving,
driver's carelessness, and drunk driving. As shown in the examples, the issues
from scientists’ findings stem from the user, not the inventor. Therefore,
scientists do not need to be liable for the side effects from their research
finding.
All things considered, the scientist should
not be responsible for the problem caused by their invention and finding. The
side effects with the researchers' finding are sometimes inevitable as every
coin has two sides. If scientist has to shoulder responsibility for their findings,
it will seriously impede the improvement of our life. |
