Some people choose friends who are different from themselves. Others choose friends who are similar to themselves |
Some people are looking for friends who are simliar to themselves while others are looking for friends who are different from themselves. Former group say that when they meet people who have similar opinion or llife-style, they are comfort and pleased. Later group say that when they meet people who have different opinio and life-style, they can learn from differencies. I believe though each of friends whether different or not are important in our life, different friends are more important since we can learn how to adjust and make balance and enlarge our sight of view.
On the one hand it is often important to have friends who are similar to ourselves. When I was in elementary and middle school, I made friends who have similar interest such as entertainment, movie and hobby. Perhaps making a friends with similar interest, I took convenience and developed my tendancy. Sometimes intriguingly, I rejected and criticized some friends on the reason that they were different from my interest. Likewise, meeting people with similar interest or way of thinking we develop and empower our opinion with strong agreement.
On the other hand it is often important to have friends who are different from ourselve. As we grow up, we meet various people. No one has the same opinion as others's have. When I entered University, I was surprised and dismaid with very different way of thinking. I should adjust and find blance in our group. At first time, it was very hard to accept those differencies. In the end, it was turned out the most invaluable lesson out of class. Likewise, meeting people with different opinion or interest, we can adjust our fixed perspective and make harmony with people.
Finally, it is more important to have friends with differencies. Since only if we get along with people who are similar to ourselves, we are tend not to be flexible and to have less understanding, it is neccessary to communicate with different people. When I took part in volunteering activity in the last summer, there was a group of people in different major. We shared different knowledge from different area that we cannot easily get by ourself. Particulary, when a girl in Art met other people in Management, she who studied only art could enlarge her sight to manage her accountant.
In conclusion, while some finds convenience and contents with similar people to themselves, others finds more exiting and gets lessons to adjust different people. In this sense, I agree with imfortance of both meeting, however, I beleve meeting different kind of people is more importance as we can develop ourselves in countless untold ways. |
