Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Playing a game is fun only when you win. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. |
From the past, games such as chess and odello were played steadily, and these days, computer games has become the most beloved entertainment. Even though game is just a 'game,' the winners and losers exist. Some people claim games are fun only when winning but my opinion differs from their's. Games can be fun while losing too, because people can find satisfaction from doing their best and the purpose of the game can be something else not just achieving victory.
People can be satisfied if they do their best on the game even if they lose, and the satisfaction makes the game enjoyable. For example, I played starcraft with my friend who's not better than me, but lost. But even I lost, I enjoyed the game because I did everything I could on the game. So people can find games fun even if they lose, if they do their best.
If the game has some other purposes than just winning, it can be fun despite loss. For instance, I played soccer with my cousins, who are each seven and twelve years old, last Chu-seok. Because they were young and cute, I lost the game to make them happy. Even though I lost, I enjoyed the game because my purpose was to make them delighted, not to win. So if the purpose of the game is something else but winning the game can be fun in spite of loss.
People can enjoy games even if they lose, if they do everything they can and if it's purpose is not winning but something else. |
