A company has announced that it plans to open a large cut-price retail store in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose the new store? Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion. |
A cut-price retail store would be a significant presence in my neighborhood. When a company decided to open such a store in the shopping district, some people objected and demonstrated against it. Others felt that it would be convenient to shop in such a store. In my case, I would support the new store because of its convenient location and the lower prices it offers.
If such a store were right around the corner from my home, it would be the first place we would choose to shop. We might be loyal to local specialty stores that have served us well over the years for some things like fresh vegetables, flowers, magazines and drugs. But we would have the choice to visit the cut-price retail store without the added cost of transportation. Even people who aren't financially challenged like to pay reasonable prices for the goods they need on a daily basis. Most people have to watch what they spend on such products and look for the sale price and the discount offers. So not only would the store would be conveniently located, it would offer prices that everyone would appreciate.
If a company did open a large cut-price store in my neighborhood, I would support it because of the convenience and the competitive prices. This does not mean that I wouldn't be loyal to small businesses that have been giving good service all these years. |
