Movies tell a lot about a country. |
First, the background of each movie clearly shows what it’s like of certain countries. The scenery, different sorts of houses, or what people wear evidently indicate various things about country: historical influence, environment, wealth and more. For example, New Zealand has drawn tremendous amount of money by captivating many tourists from different countries because of the famous movie “The Lord of the Rings,” which was filmed in New Zealand. Each scene of the movie excellently shows how splendid and crude New Zealand’s environment is. Apparently, this has shown one of the country’s good aspects and has influenced people to draw good impression on a certain country. On the top of that, some movies show the social issues of countries: Political, racial issues and more. For example, there is a Korean movie called “The Host,” and this movie uses sarcasm to criticize American military’s bad conduct. Korean people are cognizant that Korea is under the influence of the gigantic America even though Korea is one individual democratic country. In the movie, one of the American doctors who is serving for U.S. Army in Korea order one sergeant to get rid of the noxious and hazardous toxins to Han River, which is the longest river in Korea. This causes some creature in the river to mutate into “The Host.” This sarcastically depicts the political relationship between Korea and the U.S. To sum up, I firmly believe that movies tell a lot about a country; it tells people of their natural environment, social issues, cultural background and more. This may or may not be advantageous for the countries, but what the movie has shown are to be incised in people’s mind and determines the image of the country.
