Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time become valuable lessons in the future. |
Steve Jobs, who is the CEO of Apple, has never got a huge amount of fortune and prestige easily in just one night. There should be tremendous disturbances and difficulties in his life. However, he overcame all of those hardships and finally became a superstar of the computer industry in the world. In this sense, I firmly believe that most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time become valuable lessons for the future. Because it serves as a stepping stone for the future and makes one's life more strong.
First of all, people who did not go through some hardships cannot lead a successful life. Because they don't know what to do in difficult situations. Those people became more dependent on others' advices without any own consideration. For example, there is my friend who has weak and dependent personality. When I met him first, I couldn't understand why he is so weak and dependent. However, one day, I went to his home by chance, and then I realized why his personality was formed like that. The reason was his mother. She took care of most of his tasks instead of him, even deciding who he will marry with. So he couldn't get any chances to learn what to do in certain situations. On the whole, there should be some hardships to learn how to survive in difficult aspects.
Secondly, hardships give people chances to be strong. It is same as rocks become more harder when there are some wind and rain. Because a person who overcame a hardship can get through something more harder. To illustrate this point, when I was a high school student, I had failed to enter a good university. At that time, I could not feel any hope to live my life. However, I overcame those hard times and finally went to a good university next year. In retrospect, those are so trivial compared to these days' hardships. And I am convinced that I can handle all of the difficult times that I'll meet in the future.
To summarize, everyone needs some difficult times in order to learn about hardships and be more strong. And what I want to mention as a final comment is that if there is no pain in one's life, then there is no gain.
